Welcome to Bath
Hi... Welcome to Bath...
Hope you don't mind but here are some questions for you...
- Do you wish church was more than a meeting?
- Are you looking for authenticity in your faith?
- Do you wish you could make a difference with your life?
- Are you looking for a place to worship without worrying what everyone looks like?
- Do you want to learn more about being a disciple in today's world?
- Are you frustrated with consumer Christianity?
- Are you anxious to find a church where you can help out?
- Do you like the idea of a church which isn't full of people just like you?
If you answer any of these question with a YES then perhaps we are the church community for you...
As I hope you will have guessed by the other stuff on this site, St Michael's is a local church trying just to be a good church in Twerton, for the people of Twerton... If that sounds like a good thing to you then how about giving up your life, along with us, for the next few years to making something happen here... We can't promise you a great show or fancy stuff to entice you in, but we will will welcome you in and invite you to join us in our mission... If you want to find our more about the Vision of the church click here...
It would be great to see you sometime...

rolloverSuffering 1
Can I really believe in a God of love when all around me I see people suffering? In
the first of a two week series on suffering, Richard tackles this vital question head on and encourages us to
base our response on the life, character, and compassion of Jesus - the exact representation of the Father. No easy answers. A meaty meal... Could change your view of God forever.

Father/Discipline
Another aspect of God's fatherhood is that his delight in us leads him to
discipline us. Richard revisits the story of the 'true vine' from John 15,
and talks about parental discipline and love. Being a 'Sunday Live'
service, the talk is illustrated by some crazy behaviour. We also join
together to pray for one of our church who has cancer.

Father/Inheritance
For may of us we have been told that God is like a Father in the way he loves us. While completely true, Richard explores another (perhaps more
important) aspect of this relationship - that of inheritance. If God is our Father, we are his Son and
therefore heirs to his inheritance.

Father/Son
Father's Day. Richard focuses on the story about a Dad and his two very different sons. One returns home. Retelling the famous story, God's recklessly wild love stands out as both mad and amazing. Also contains a call to the church to be a homecoming, partying church for the feckless and broken.

Each Other
Richard finishes off the series on Genesis 1&2 rounding off looking at the way that the blueprint for relationships is laid out in this
early part of the story. So, at last, a talk about sex and relationships... Of course, not every
issue was covered but he laid out a framework for working out how we might remain faithful to the
story and the grace of God in our lives...
Sadly the power cut out half way through and so the talk was not recorded... but you can read it here if you want. Not the same - and the tone makes a big difference
- but it's better than nothing...
